The Many Hats of Disco Interactive

Disco is very different from what it once was, but still the same in its values. We started as digital marketing lab, studying the ways consumers and brands interact. Always thinking and experimenting, constantly looking for more effective ways to reach an audience. Some of our experiments yielded results that would surprise even the most seasoned internet marketers, interaction designers, and PHP developers. Some not so much. It’s just the way a lab operates, but we kept recording what worked and what didn’t. After a while, we had some very valuable information on our hands. We knew exactly how to start, promote, and establish a brand in these strange new times.

How we can help you.

As time went on, we found that companies (big and small) wanted to talk to us about what we learned. User trends were more important than ever and targeting consumers became laser precise. We began building marketing applications (websites, automation scripts, mobile apps, advertising, etc.) as a vehicle to test our knowledge on another company to see if they had the same results as we did. It turned out that appealing design, solid functionality, and data-driven analytics can take a brand from an image, to a name. We would really like to thank those first few clients, because in all honesty, in the beginning, we didn’t know if our recipe worked either. But, it did. And, it still does.

Our Process

The Team

Design

The actual designing of your marketing collateral is the first step. This is different with every client. Along with a website, there are several other pieces to a successful consumer experience. Some campaigns require mobile apps, interactive gaming, social media presences, anything you can think of on the web that can be designed or developed. The most successful brands use a selective combination of all sorts of media to attract consumers, not just a website.

Development

Without solid support underneath, the designs are little more than nice pictures. Having a reliable infrastructure with people who actually know what they’re doing makes all the difference. The programmatic support behind marketing efforts often goes unnoticed amongst all the visuals, but we know its just as important. (PHP guy says it’s “more important” but we compromised with “just as important”).

Digital Marketing

Every business owner at one time or another has thought “how can the web work for my company”. It’s just natural to want to push your company’s horizons and access new markets. Using a combination of Search Engine Marketing (we can tell what people are looking for and how they’re looking for it), press releases, PPC, CPC, BBQ, networking, advertising, and others, you can reach the demographic you’re after. Precision is what we’re looking for here.

Social Interaction

Establishing a loyal following to your brand, in years past, has been a luxury reserved for million dollar budgets. After all, social media as a whole is relatively new and even newer in the context of business and commerce. Social interaction can drive consumers towards a brand they can relate with and trust. We’ve already disproved the “more the better” theory, meaning adding hundreds of thousands of followers to your twitter account is the way to go. It’s not. It’s the dialogue you create with your audience. Consumers are now connecting with brands in ways that were never thought to be possible.
